Seattle Area Chapter

About our Seattle Chapter

The growth of the cybersecurity talent gap widens and outpaces formal education, organizations hiring strategies, and external pipeline development programs. At the time of convening the Seattle chapter, there were 3.4M unfilled cybersecurity jobs worldwide.

A shift in mindset is needed for organizations to be able to leverage the diverse talent pool comprised of “middle-skill” or STAR (skilled through alternative route) workers who lack traditional college degrees or extensive technical experience in cybersecurity. This presents a unique opportunity for all of us to join together to make a difference, giving back to those looking to enter into a cybersecurity career..

The Seattle Chapter is the third Chapter of NextGen Cyber Talent (following the Bay Area and DFW Chapters), and our Board is endeavoring to establish programs that help ensure NextGen Cyber Talent is able to fulfill its vision.

The Seattle Chapter Board seeks to meet our diverse local community of underserved and underprivileged where they are to help them enter into and navigate a career in cybersecurity.

We ask you to join us: as a benefactor, business sponsor, educational institution, or executive mentor. Please contact us to learn more about how you can contribute to defending today, securing tomorrow, and promoting a diverse cyber community here in Seattle.
