Session Abstract:
In 2021 global cybersecurity unfilled positions are estimated to reach 3.5 million. As of September 2020, there are 1 million U.S. professionals employed in cybersecurity related professions. Yet, according to the (ISC)2 Global Information Security Workforce Study 25% of security workers represented minority backgrounds. Women account for only 24% of the workforce. As organizations race to defend themselves against increasing hacks, more tangible commitments and investments are needed from enterprises to ensure that the security industry is well represented and inclusive for a diverse talent base to be able to thrive and contribute to a safer world.

Session Abstract:
Securing cloud native applications is a complex process that requires unpacking various attributes and layers across multiple dimensions. However, it has never been more important for DevOps and Security teams to ensure they stay ahead of adversaries and malicious actors seeking to exploit production systems.
We need to address the needs of security in all layers. In addition to the technology, organizations need to revamp their processes and upskill the resources to prepare them to enforce the effective controls to protect their applications.
