Bay Area Chapter

About our Bay Area Chapter

The growth of the cybersecurity talent gap widens and outpaces formal education, organizations hiring strategies, and external pipeline development programs. A mindset shift is needed for organizations to bring a diverse talent into the organization with no college degrees or any technical experience in cybersecurity. An unique opportunity for all of us to join together to make a difference and bring in new talent into our organization. It is our time to give back to those that are in need to find a pathway in their career.

The Bay Area Chapter was our first Chapter at NextGen and the board has pioneered the various programs to ensure NextGen is able to meet its vision. At the time of convening the Bay Area chapter, there were 3.5M unfilled cybersecurity jobs worldwide. As of 2020, approximately 50% of surveyed firms plan to increase their cybersecurity staffing.

The Bay Area Chapter board meets our diverse community of underserved and underprivileged where they are to help them navigate a career in cybersecurity.

Join us as a benefactor, business sponsor, educational institution, or executive mentor. Please drop us a note to learn how you can contribute to defending today, securing tomorrow, and promoting a diverse cyber community here in the Bay Area.
